A wild stop motion animator found in it's workplace habitat: the studio

Jonas Callebert

stop motion animator     concept development     multidisciplinary improvisation

I am specialised in creating animated worlds and concepts by upcycling found objects and constructions from trash. Putting these front of the camera lights, i can animate stop motion content in a cinematic way.

I sometimes do 3D, SFX and 2D. Working alone is possible, but i thrive in teams.

Artistically, I like to discover new approaches of

storytelling by using techniques of improvisational theatresports. Capturing spontaneous behavioural accidents, is key to improving and acting out new ways to  be seen and navigated by an audience.
Next to that I maintain and practice an active imagination and am inspired by music and acousmatic sounds.

Gathered experience from Beast Animation, Kiosk Radio Brussels, WORM Rotterdam, Vlaams Audiovisueel Fonds (VAF), Vlaamse Gemeenschapscommissie (VGC), cum laude graduate at RITCS and I made some videoclips for Belgian bands. I organised collective filmscreenings for beginning filmmakers (insta: @scum.be), host workshops and i'm currently preparing improvisational gatherings in Brussels while inviting artists from Rotterdam.

happy to discuss more over a cup of tea:
